Drupi at Mokate / August 22, 2008

Drupi, legendary Italian signer, paid a visit to Mokate. He has met with president Teresa Mokrysz in Ustron on Wednesday August 20th. Many reporters have taken advantage of this opportunity, not mentioning the fans, mainly the female Drupi fans working at the company. Cheerful and relaxed, as always, the artist was glad to answer everyone's questions. He talked about his homeland (near Milan), his singer’s career and many concerts in Poland, the first of which took place as far back as 1978. With satisfaction he mentioned his meeting with Lech Wałęsa, commemorated with a photograph. The meeting with reporters was a change to address questions to Mokate’s president. Information was confirmed about a big advertising campaign, in preparation for Mokate Cappuccino. Those present at the meeting were informed about the current position of the company on the market and the returning popularity of cappuccino. They also heard the announcement of Drupi’s participation in the campaign, which will start in September. It is meant to strengthen the company’s image as one which reaches for the best Italian traditions and standards. “As a leader we feel responsible for this category of products on the Polish market” – said president Teresa Mokrysz.

Mokate on the border / August 5, 2008

A pleasing piece of news from Monika Lipińska, known for “Wszystkie smaki cappuccino” and other books. The author, abroad for a few months, reports in her August 2nd email: ,, This morning, in a family-ran shop on the Dutch-German border I noticed Mokate products! [...]There is a shelf with Polish products, and there’s cappuccino, Minutka and mulled teas. Noticing this was a nice heart-warming moment! Also, Mokate Cappuccino was in the coffee section of the shop”. Thank you Monika for the news and we ask for more of this kind!

Mokate on TVN24 / May 22, 2006

Not only can you read about Mokate, but you can also see us on TV. The company recently featured on the TVN24 channel in the popular programme “Business from Every Angle”. The subject of the show of 20th May (rebroadcast three times) was the role of the younger generation of family company owners. Mokate was presented as an example of a rapidly developing company, and Adam Mokrysz, who heads the Business Unit team, appeared as a representative of the younger generation.

He recalled on screen the early days of his work with Mokate, and emphasized that you have to start from the bottom, sometimes with work on the production line. Regarding the future of family companies in Poland, Adam Mokrysz believes that we will certainly have more and more thriving companies such as his, able to square up to the competition on a worldwide scale.

Cheer Up / May 19, 2006

In The Economist (13–19 May 2006 issue) a number of pages were dedicated to the Polish economy.

In an article entitled “Cheer Up”, a long section was devoted to Mokate:

“Mokate is a third-generation family firm. When its pre-war restaurants and shops were nationalised under communism, the Mokrysz family started up a private building-supplies firm, which survived even though the company claims it suffered from ‘persecution’. Certainly Mokate has done remarkably well since 1990, increasing its sales more than fiftyfold in 15 years after moving from cement in sacks to coffee-creamer in sachets. EU membership has greatly boosted its exports and the firm now sells to 55 countries.

(...) Mokate’s edge is in high technology and know-how. Its ultra-modern powder tower rises like a skyscraper over a gleaming white R&D facility (…). Food scientists produce a stream of new consumer products.
