Horse intelligence
The measure of one’s intelligence is its effectiveness in solving real life problems, and not high IQ – this statement opens an interesting article in WPROST. Examples of a high level of “practical intelligence” were delivered through the examples of, among others, George, Bush, Jack Welch, Tomasz Lis. For us, the most interesting was the mention of Mokate president Teresa Mokrysz’s high practical intelligence - a person who is able to utilize it to the full extent, if “/.../ it is necessary to achieve the best results”. In the later part of the text, the Author makes an argument that persons with this type of intelligence do not become victims to "/.../ urges that easily...". In another words – they are good politicians and businessmen. WPROST, August 24th 2008 Author: Monika Florek-Moskal
1. Cheer Up
"Mokate is a third-generation family firm. When its pre-war restaurants and shops were nationalised under communism, the Mokrysz family started up a private building-supplies firm, which survived even though the company claims it suffered from 'persecution'. Certainly Mokate has done remarkably well since 1990, increasing its sales more than fiftyfold in 15 years after moving from cement in sacks to coffee-creamer in sachets. EU membership has greatly boosted its exports and the firm now sells to 55 countries."
(...) Mokate’s edge is in high technology and know-how. Its ultra-modern powder tower rises like a skyscraper over a gleaming white R&D facility (...). Food scientists produce a stream of new consumer products.”

2. Mokate. A second acquisition in the Czech Republic
"Mokate this week bought up the Prague-based company Timex, which produces and sells instant coffee, tea and cocoa. This is already the second take-over by Mokate in the Czech Republic: last year it acquired Dukát, a tea-packaging company from the town of Zlin."
